Mission Statement:

The mission of the Ann Arbor Public Schools, a world-class system of innovative teaching and learning, is to ensure each student realizes his or her aspirations while advancing the common good through a community dynamic.

Objectives:

- 100% of AAPS students will exceed international standards in achievement.
- Each student progressively achieves his/her personalized educational goals.

- All students are accomplished in their lifelong pursuits.

Transportation Services:
|
- The Ann Arbor Public Schools own 132 buses, covers 110 routes over approximately 125 square miles and travels 1.8 million miles annually.
- The AAPS bus maintenance department was featured in School Bus Fleet Magazine in 2008 as one of the “Top 10 Shops” in the U.S. & Canada. The district consistently receives excellent annual inspection results from the Michigan State Police.

Food Service:
|
- Food Service serves over 1.4 million meals during the school year.
- Provides vocational training & job experience for special needs students.
|
Facilities:
|
- We maintain 640 acres of real estate and 3.7 million square feet of building space. The average school building age is over 50 years.
- 18 out of 33 school buildings were built before 1960.
- The district has received national recognition for participation in the Green Lights program, which saves energy while reducing costs.
